SCHEDULE [subject to change]
Prior to construction beginning, temporary traffic signals and temporary lighting will be installed. Once the temporary signals are in place, the contractor will remove the right turn lane medians and fill them with pavement. This will create the space necessary to stage traffic through the intersection. This work will be accomplished utilizing daily lane closures during off-peak hours. At least one existing crosswalk in each direction will also be maintained.
This stage includes pavement widening, storm sewer installation, curb and gutter and drainage improvements. Delays during this stage are anticipated to be minimal since the work is located on the shoulder outside the existing roadway footprint. Trucks entering/exiting the work zone will most likely be the cause of any delays.
Focus during this stage will be the concrete barrier medians on all four legs of the intersection and the installation of new traffic signals; final signing and lighting will also be completed in this stage.
In Stage Three, crews will mill and resurface Grand Avenue (Grand Hunt Center Road to Gurnee Mills Circle West) and Hunt Club Road (Grand Hunt Drive to Westbrook Lane). This work will be done utilizing daily lane closures during off-peak hours.
