04-30-2020: With favorable spring weather came installation of perennial plants and shrubs in the south Hunt Club Road median. Crews placed filter fabric and red granite mulch as well as large granite boulders completing the final accents on this beautifully landscaped median.
Traffic signal installation is almost complete with all the poles, mast arms and signal heads. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed completion of the last two radar cameras needed for the intersection to function as intended. Some of the integral pieces needed to assemble these cameras have been delayed at the manufacturing plant and it may be several weeks before these cameras are installed.
Over the next few weeks, the remaining red brick concrete will be completed in the Hunt Club Road median as well as miscellaneous sidewalk work at Grand Hunt Center and Gurnee Mills Circle West.
03-24-2020: You may have noticed over the last few weeks the erection of the new traffic signals at the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Grand Avenue. We anticipate completing all the traffic signal and lighting work by mid-April. After all the electric cable splicing and fiber optic wiring is complete, the signals will be fully functional and the temporary traffic signals and temporary wood poles will be removed. Towards the end of April, final landscaping will resume with the installation of perennial plantings and shrubs in the south Hunt Club Road median.
