08-13-2020:  We finally received the radar cameras in late June to complete the new traffic signals at the intersection.  After turning on the new signals, crews removed temporary signals and wood poles.
Recently, we wrapped up construction of additional sidewalk and crosswalks completing the pedestrian safety improvements.
This month, the last of the beautification elements was completed with the red brick concrete median on south Hunt Club Road.
Once some minor landscaping is done, the work for the project will be complete.  Thank you for your patience during construction.  We hope you appreciate the improvements and enjoy the features that were added to improve pedestrian safety and reduce congestion.
Some of the notable improvements:  right turn lanes to southbound Hunt Club and eastbound Grand to improve traffic flow; multiple pedestrian pushbuttons and crosswalks allowing pedestrians full movement at three intersections on Grand and two on Hunt Club; dual left turn lanes on Hunt Club at Grand allow for protected left turns and a higher volume of traffic to turn left; state-of-the-art traffic signals; and the latest in LED street lighting.

04-30-2020:  With favorable spring weather came installation of perennial plants and shrubs in the south Hunt Club Road median.  Crews placed filter fabric and red granite mulch as well as large granite boulders completing the final accents on this beautifully landscaped median.  Traffic signal installation is almost complete with all the poles, mast arms and signal heads.  Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed completion of the last two radar cameras needed for the intersection to function as intended.  Some of the integral pieces needed to assemble these cameras have been delayed at the manufacturing plant and it may be several weeks before these cameras are installed.  Over the next few weeks, the remaining red brick concrete will be completed in the Hunt Club Road median as well as miscellaneous sidewalk work at Grand Hunt Center and Gurnee Mills Circle West.
